"Any of you who lacks wisdom must ask God, who gives to all generously and without scolding; it will be given. But the prayer must be made with faith, and no trace of doubt, because a person who has doubts is like waves thrown up in the sea by the buffeting of the wind." - James 1, 5-6.
I felt purposeless so the first thing that come to my mind was asking God for wisdom and direction and I found the beautiful verse that reminded me that I should pray with faith without any trace of doubt, in other words, surrender my entire life to God. After all life is not just about finding yourself, it's about discovering who God created you to be, and that is exactly what I need.
In order to made a prayer with faith, and no trace of doubt, I need to firmly believe and trust that God wants to give me a purpose. He desires I have a joyful, enthusiastic, and purposeful life. I just need to ask Him to give it to me. "Yes, I know what plans I have in mind for you, declares the Lord, plans for peace, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. When you call to me and pray to me, I shall listen to you. When you search for me, you will find me; when you search wholeheartedly for me, I shall let you find me." - Jeremiah 29, 11-14.
Dear Lord, I know that you have a plan for my life.
Today I surrender my entire life to You,
because I know that seeking after You is the only way to find a satisfying purpose.
I need Your grace and wisdom to find clarity
about the way of life that will granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasures of living with You forever.
Help me long to serve You above myself, even above others.
Help me to walk daily in reliance of You.
Amen.
