Why Should We Pray?

"Our fearlessness towards Him consists in this, that if we ask anything in accordance with his will he hears us. And if we know that He listens to whatever we ask Him, we know that we already possess whatever we have asked of Him." 1 John 5, 14-15.

Praying is the way we could communicate with God, and it help us to bring us closer to Him. There is not something better than spend a one-on-one time with the our loved Father, who knows all our secrets and loves us no matter what. "He is close to all who call upon him, all who call on him from heart" - Psalms 145, 18.

By praying we could have access to Divine help when we need it most. Every time we experience worries, anxieties and fear we could ask God's help having the certainty that He will always helps us. "Never worry about anything; but tell God all your desires of every kind in prayer and petition shot through gratitude, and the peace of god which is beyond our understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4, 6-7.

We are not perfect, so often we fail but through prayer we could gain God's forgiveness. During praying God could help us to forgive ourselves too and allow us to walk free of guilt and shame. He could also helps us to forgive others who have hurt us and unleash us from bitterness, resentment, and depression. "if we acknowledge our sins, He is trustworthy and upright, so that He will forgive our sins and will cleanse us from all evil"- 1 John 1, 9.

Prayer gives us strength, when we pray we could experience God's presence as a reminder that He is always with us and that we are not alone in our struggles He is on our side giving us strength to handle anything that comes against us. "He gives strength to the weary, he strengthens the powerless" - Isaiah 40, 29.

Through prayer we thank God for all His blessings "always and everywhere giving thanks to God who is our Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ" - Ephesians 5, 20.

Be Satisfied

"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart . " - PSalm 37:4. I was single for a long time, I remember how much I struggled at that time, because my soul was not satisfied, something was missing, after years and years of praying, the Lord finally gave me an amazing husband the sweetest and kindest man. But before that happened God helped me to be satisfied, fulfilled and content by being loved only by Him.  Today I found a beautiful prayer by St. Anthony of Padua, and I could not avoid to share it.  "Everyone longs to give themselves completely to someone, To have a deep soul relationship with another, To be loved thoroughly and exclusively. But to a Christian, God says, "No, not until you are satisfied, Fulfilled and content with being loved by Me alone, With giving yourself totally and unreservedly to Me. With having an intensely personal and unique relationship with Me alone. Discovering that only in Me is your satisfaction to b...

Increase my Thankfulness

"Give thanks in all circumstances; this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus." - 1 Thessalonians 5, 18. Dear Lord, please increase my thankfulness. Help me to open my heart to You so I could seek You in the midst of my circumstances. Open my eyes to see the signs of Your unseen presence in my life. Allow me to find You in myriad tiny details  as well as in the big picture of my life.  Grant me to notice all my blessings - small and large -  and to always thank You for them.  Thank You so much for Your unfailing Love.  Amen.

God Works While We Wait

"W ait for the Lord, be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord. " - Psalm 27, 14 Being honest, we all hate to wait. That is because most of us consider waiting like wasting time. But it's not so with our God, we just need to remember that good things are worth waiting and God only wants good things for us: " If you, then, evil as you are, know how to give your children what is good, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him! " - Matthew 7, 11. God uses waiting to change us, He wants us to learn how to follow Him and put down all our doubts, worries and fear. While we wait we need to relinquish the control to Him in order to experience His love and peace, and remember that even when we are unable to see what He is doing, God is always working on the events to accomplish His purposes for our lives. We only need to trust in His unfailing love for us, knowing that waiting is never wasted when we...
